Today we will finally reach to sentence formation. Let us learn Simple Present Tense in Marathi.

In English, a boy will say “I go” In Marathi, he will say मी जातो (mI jAto)0
As we have seen before the verb “Go” is जा(jA) in Marathi. So for Simple present tense, we suffixed तो(to) to the verb. Simple !!
जा (jA)+ तो(to) = जातो (mI jAto)

Similarly, a girl will say मी जाते (mI jAte ).
Note that there is a different suffix based on the gender of the speaker. For the feminine, the suffix is ते (te)
जा (jA)+ ते (te) = जाते (jAte)

So the formula for forming a sentence is Pronoun followed by verb+suffix.

Below table list the suffix to be used for different pronouns:

Now apply the formula “Pronoun verb+suffix” using above table and verbs seen in last post; create as many sentences as possible.

I ( male) do: मी करतो (mI karato)
I (female) do: मी करते (mI karate)
We dance: आम्ही/आपण नाचतो (AmhI/ApaN nAchato )
You (male) cry: तू रडतोस (tU raDatos)
You (female) cry: तू रडतेस (tU raDates)
You (Plural) walk: तुम्ही चालता (tumhI chAlatA)
He walks. : तो चालतो (to chAlato)
She speaks: ती बोलते (tI bolate)
It moves: ते हलते (te halate)
They(Plural of He/She/It) dance  : ते/ त्या/ ती नाचतात (te/tyA/tI nAchatAt )
