“To Think” in English is વિચારવું ( vichAravuM ) in Gujarati

I am thinking about Maths:- હું ગણિત વિષે વિચારું છું (huM gaNit viShe vichAruM ChuM)
She is thinking of higher study:- એ ઉચ્ચ શિક્ષણ બાબત વિચારે છે (e uchch shikShaN bAbat vichAre Che )

There is another use of verb “to think” or rather phrase “To think that”. In such sentences “To Think” or “To think that” means “To feel”
In English we say “I feel I should go”, “I felt happy”, “He feels that everyone else is stupid”.
Sometimes the phrase “To think that” is used instead of “To feel”.
e.g. “I think that I should go”, “He thinks that everyone else is stupid”.

In Gujarati the verb for “To feel” or “To think that” લાગવું (lAgavuM).

Sentence structure is:

Proper noun or Pronoun with preposition “To”nounForm of verb લાગવું (lAgavuM) as per tense and gender,
multiplicity of noun
મને(mane)એવું (evuM)લાગે છે (lAge Che)

So sentence structure is Gujarati is kind of saying “It is felt to me”

Examples :

I feel this way / I think this way:- મને એવું લાગે છે (mane evuM lAge Che)
I feel this / I think this:- મને એ લાગે છે (mane e lAge Che)

Generally “I think this” is said in Gujarati as if saying, “I think this way”. So in Gujarati મને એવું લાગે છે (mane evuM lAge Che) is more natural than મને એ લાગે છે (mane e lAge Che)
He felt /thought that I will not come:- એને લાગ્યું કે હું નહિં આવીશ (ene lAgyuM ke huM nahiM AvIsh)

What do you feel/think? :- તને શું લાગે છે (tane shuM lAge Che)

Kaushik thinks that he should go:- કૌશિકને એમ લાગે છે કે એણે જવું જોઇએ (kaushikane em lAge Che ke eNe javuM joie)

He will feel bad:- તેને ખરાબ લાગશે (tene kharAb lAgashe)

Short form of “મને એમ લાગે છે કે (mane em lAge Che ke )” is “મને એમ કે …” (mane em ke). It is a very popular phrase which means “I thought/felt that …”
Though it is used to say a past action, the sentence is formed in the future tense.

I thought that this is phone number of newspaper -> I thought it will be phone number of newspaper -> મને એમ કે આ અખબારનો નંબર હશે (mane em ke A akhabArano naMbar hashe)

I thought it was a new car, but it was old one -> I thought it will be a new car but it was old one -> મને એમ કે એ નવી કાર હશે પણ એ જૂની હતી (mane em ke e navI kAr hashe paN e jUnI hatI )
