present perfect continuous

In English, we use “perfect continuous” tense to indicate that some action has started in the past and has continued up until now.
e.g. “I have been studying Marathi for the last 2 years”, “She has been working here for the past 1 month”, “He had been standing all day at work” etc.

Style 1)
In Marathi, there is no special tense to match this “has/had been”. So while translating a
“have been” statement -> translate it as if a “present continuous” tense.
“had been” statement – > translate as if “past continuous” tense.
“will have been” statement -> translate as if “future continuous” tense.

i.e.
“He had been saying” can be said as “he was saying” -> तो बोलत होता ( to bolat hotA )
“He has been saying” can be said as “he is saying” -> तो बोलत आहे( to bolat Ahe )
“He will have been saying” can be said as “he will be saying” -> तो बोलत असेल ( to bolat asel )

Style 2) In this style verb येणे(yeNe) is used along with main verb to make it perfect continuous.

The sentence structure for present perfect continuous is

Subject of sentence verb+त(t) verb येणे(yeNe) as per present perfect tense
मी (mI) बोलत(bolat )
आलो आहे (Alo Ahe)

The simple hint is first to translate “I have come” into Marathi and then insert main verb+त(t) to make it perfect continuous.

e.g. If we want to say “I have been saying”. Then first, translate “I have come” i.e. मी आलो आहे ( mI Alo Ahe ). Now the main verb is “to say” i.e. बोल(bol) so we insert बोलत(bolat ) into a sentence to make it

मी बोलत आलो आहे ( mI bolat Alo Ahe )

A further example will make it clear

1) she has been saying
She has come” -> ती आली आहे ( tI AlI Ahe )
She has been saying -> ती बोलत आली आहे ( tI bolat AlI Ahe )

2) They have been dancing
They have come -> ते आले आहेत ( te Ale Ahet )
They have been dancing -> ते नाचत आले आहेत ( te nAchat Ale Ahet )

You have been eating mango -> तुम्ही आंबा खात आला आहात ( tumhI AMbA khAt AlA AhAt )

4) I have been working there for the past three years
I have come -> मी आलो आहे( mI Alo Ahe)
I have been working -> मी काम करत आलो आहे( mI kAm karat Alo Ahe )
I have been working there for three years -> मी तिकडे ३ वर्षे काम करत आलो आहे ( mI tikaDe 3 varShe kAm karat Alo Ahe )
